About Dr Sarah Cluley
Dr Sarah Cluley is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist based in Auckland, New Zealand. She has over 10 years’ experience working in both clinical and forensic settings, including extensive work within the Department of Corrections / Ara Poutama. She provides clinical and forensic psychological assessment services in Auckland and across New Zealand.
Her practice is focused on the provision of specialist psychological assessments in clinical, trauma-related, and medico-legal contexts. She has particular experience in the assessment of complex presentations, including trauma-related conditions, personality difficulties, neurodevelopmental and cognitive issues, and offending-related risk.
Dr Cluley provides independent, objective, and evidence-based psychological opinions for courts, the New Zealand Parole Board, ACC, and other statutory bodies including Immigration Services. Her reports integrate diagnostic formulation, psychometric findings, and structured professional judgement, and are prepared in a clear and well-reasoned manner.
Referrals are accepted from Crown and defence lawyers, the Courts, ACC, and other statutory agencies. Self-referrals will also be considered where appropriate.
